I grew up in the countryside without electricity; we relied on candlelight and often played with shadow puppets. Light and the interplay of shadows have always fascinated me and on top of that , I have never liked sleeping in pitch black.

To date, I have moved 34 times, changing houses and cities—which is why I have always preferred light, easy-to-disassemble furniture.

During the lockdowns, there was a lot of talk about the ‘fluid home”: in my home-studio, I used that time to perfect the prototype of this lamp, making it the perfect antidote to boredom. You can choose pink shades for a comforting glow on a rainy day, or yellow and green organic shapes to create a playful kids’ lamp.

The MODULA with its quick and easy interlocking assembly has been designed to be transportable in a shopping bag, to go away with you in a hand luggage on the plane and to be shipped in a flat pack. It was born in response to the limits imposed by the fixed structure: before I glued Plexiglas to the base of the wood and sending posts as tall as me was not easy; I also wanted a lamp that would meet the need for “that light at that moment”.

MODULA is therefore an “open object-system” that changes with our mood: everyone creates their own already at the time of online purchase with the product configurator, and to better play with the mysteries of visual perception I created the EXTRA MODULAR SET, 4 small geometries with which to experiment.
